You wouldn’t know it by looking outside, but we are just about to enter March.

We start this month with one of our favorite beers for one of our favorite festivals.  It’s Bock Fest time again, and we have prepared our own release of the German Dunkels Bock to coordinate with Schell’s Bock Fest.  Before you jump on the bus south, come enjoy our version that boasts a beautiful dark brown color with a medium-full body, and flavors of dark toast and dried fruits. If you haven’t booked your ticket to New Ulm yet, get on it! With the temps scheduled for around 40, it’s sure to be a day to remember!

If you are not able to join us at Schells, I hope to see you pub side to help us welcome new beers to our lineup.  We will be starting with a fun new hybrid, the Belgian Bruin, or Brown. This unique beer offers initial flavors of toasted hazelnuts and cream that finishes off with dark chocolate.  A noticeable hop bite and medium carbonation rounds out this love child of an American Brown and Belgian Dubbel.  We will also be seeing the return of the English Best Bitter early on this month.  Not as bitter as the Pale Ales and IPAs that are all the rage these days, this beer offers a balance between hoppy and malty.  With flavors of light caramel and toffee and served on nitro, this beer is a super easy sipper to be enjoyed a few at a time.  To round out the trifecta, look for the return of the White IPA at month’s end.  This is one of our favorites from last year, an easy drinking wheat based IPA. Sporting light floral and dominant orange aromas that compliment a spicy and citrus orange palate, finishing off with a moderate bitterness and carbonation.  This one is sure to go fast, especially with late March weather.

What would March be without St. Patrick’s Day?  This year we are celebrating everyone’s inherent Irish-ness with a smooth Irish Red Ale.  A fairly dry ale with flavors of biscuit and light toffee, as opposed to the caramel and treacle flavors usually associated with beers of this color.  This beer is sessionable, approachable, and delicious.  The perfect beer to enjoy with a friend or Leprechaun alike.

Of course you don’t have to wait to enjoy some stellar beers.  Come on in for a High Point Dunkel or a grab an Imperial Stout while it lasts.  Or do a side by side of the Lutz and Belgian IPA to see what level of hops you truly enjoy.  In any case, we have plenty of beers waiting for you.  See you soon!
